Fruits of Labor and More

Welcome back to me! I’ve been absent for a while I know. But I’m claiming 2017 to be a “blogful” year for me (hopefully). So many things have happened the past year, some beautiful memories were created and sadly, one of the most hurtful has happened too. But I’m leaving it all up to the Lord. A brand new year means a brand new start.

I am back to my comfort zone now, not that I’ve been away but I was busy and tired most of the time the last quarter of the year, the Christmas season, family occasions and work has gotten me. But I’m so back now and I’m here to stay. Well, here I am now, just chillin’ it out on our garage here at what we wanted to call “our farm”. Lol. Hopefully this year, we can move to our new place though its still unfinished. I’ve taken a few photos of our greens around. I’m adding up a lot more this year.

These banana trees were planted by the farmers around here and it’s giving us seriously sweet fruits in abundance and its pesticide free. A sure good source of potassium and the peels are being eaten by our goats.

I planted this Papaya some six months ago. It just popped up from the soil and I just transplanted it here. It is not a sensitive plant like bananas so it mainly grew on its own alone and bears fruits. Waiting for some to ripen and the others to grow bigger for a yummy pickled papaya. The ripe one is a pretty good source of Vitamin A and the pickled is very good to partner with rice and fried dishes. Meanwhile, the second photo was what we call the "male" papaya which probably would never bear any fruit but the abundant flowers are giving us lovely scents all day everyday so I just let it live.

I can’t help but post this beauty. It is giving me a year round of lovely pink blossoms. I bought this online last 2015 and it’s worth my money.

It’s my first time to ever planted and harvest ginger and it was a success. The sweet and fresh organic gingers taste so good with my chicken soup.

Our good friends hanging around and enjoying the cool breeze from the fields.

The mother hen made a nest out of the wood ashes and laying an egg, but I’m disturbing her don’t I?

Little by little this year, I’m planning to grow more greens, flowers and trees. I started out a bigger compost so I’ll have natural fertilizer sources for a lushier garden. Gardening relieves me from stress and heals my tired soul. Lol. I’m glad the grandfathers has introduce me to them when I was young, because I learned to love nature and what nature can offer us.

 See u again loves!

  6. I loveeeee your farm, Lei. It is beautiful! 2016 was an eventful year for me too - good and bad. I feel you.

Praying for your new place to be ready soon! I remember moving into mine and it wasn't completely done. We worked on our home bit by bit over the years, taking our time with each corner.
